DETAIL SUMMARY OF WORK
This is a music studio composed of three-dimensional free-form curves. This is a rehearsal hall with two basement floors. The design aim was to create a meaningful space, with the external shell visible from within, so the curves needed to be the structure in itself.
The truss wall method was chosen so the curves can be freestanding. The trusses were placed at 200mm intervals, and unitised at a maximum width of 2m, making the shipment and assembly efficient. Further, as the truss wall and the underfloor steel rods wove into each other, the positions of the rods were rendered in 3D and verified.
