This building with a full glass façade on Aoyama-dori takes in the sunlight pro-actively , while maintaining comfortable internal temperatures. A façade with three layers, printed stripes and vertical ribs are placed at appropriate points to filter the sunlight. At visible areas, LED lighting is installed, accentuating the gentle whiteness of the building in the day, and the grandeur of facade in the night.
POINT
The outer screen is composed of glass with striped prints in MPG configuration. For the inner skin, vertical supporting mullions were placed at visible areas of the pair glass curtain wall, simultaneously giving it an iconic look and providing sunshading and privacy.
POINT
The interior is made to appear brighter, by using highly reflective white print on the exterior. The colour imagined by the designer was complemented with supporting colours, and the greens of the glass was reduced to achieve a more beautiful white colour. Each supporting metal fixture was minimised whilst retaining its structural strength, accentuating the slimness of the façade.
