Thinking About the Future of Architecture with Architecture Students—Participating in the Midterm Review Session for the Architecture Student Workshop

On July 18 and 19, 2026, the mid-term review session for the “Architecture Student Workshop 2026” was held, and Asahi Building Wall Co., Ltd. (hereinafter “AGB”) participated as a special sponsor of the workshop.

From AGB, Chairman Masayuki Sakurai participated as a judge, and two advisors supported the students’ design activities.

The Architecture Student Workshop is a hands-on educational program in which architecture students from across the country form teams to tackle real-world challenges. At the midterm review session, each team presented the proposals they had been developing, and through dialogue with practicing architects and industry professionals, they refined their work in preparation for the final proposal.

At the review session, Chairman Sakurai, along with architects and industry professionals, provided feedback on the students’ proposals, offering opinions and advice from their respective perspectives. This served as an opportunity for the students to further refine their proposals while gaining exposure to perspectives from a variety of specialized fields.

As a company specializing in facade engineering—which serves as the “Face” of a building—AGB continues to support workshops for architecture students. We believe that, through dialogue with students, we can help nurture the next generation of architectural professionals, and that gaining exposure to new ideas and values surrounding architecture is one of the key benefits of this initiative.
