This workshop is organized by Art and Architect Festa, a non-profit organization, with the aim of “encouraging students majoring in architecture and environmental design to leave the campus and create actual social works in a given location under the guidance of lecturers who are mainly architects active in Japan and abroad. The purpose of the program is to “create actual social works of art in a given location under the guidance of instructors who are mainly architects.
We provided special cooperation from the viewpoint of nurturing the bearers of “artworks” and our CEO, Mr. Sakurai, served as a critic for the competition.
The stage for the 2021 festival was the Meiji Jingu Shrine in Shibuya Ward, Tokyo. The shrine was built by as many as 110,000 people from all over Japan after the death of Emperor Meiji, and is dotted with buildings of high design value, including the main shrine pavilions and the Treasure House.
