Special Cooperation for Architecture Student Workshop Izumo 2019

2019.9.1

This workshop is organized by Art and Architect Festa, a non-profit organization, with the aim of “having students majoring in architecture and environmental design leave the campus and create actual social works in a given location under the guidance of lecturers, mainly architects who are active in Japan and abroad. We have provided special cooperation from the viewpoint of nurturing the bearers of “artworks”.
In 2019, the festival was held in the area surrounding Izumo Taisha Shrine, a representative application site in Japan.
University students studying architecture gathered in Izumo from all over Japan and created 8 small architectural works, each seriously considering what they should convey “now, from the original, sacred place of architecture” in order to connect the inherited history to the future along with contemporary issues.
Our representative, Mr. Sakurai, served as a critique.
