What is IASS (International Association of Shell and Spatial Structures)?
International Association for Shell and Spatial Structures (IASS) symposia bring together hundreds of participants from around the world each year to exchange the latest ideas and exciting developments in the field and to network with other professionals.
IASS symposia have been held for more than 60 years in countries as diverse as Brazil, China, Germany, Japan, the Netherlands, Poland, Korea, Spain, the United Kingdom, and the United States.
The main theme of the IASS 2024 symposium is the intersection of historical and continuing technology and knowledge in structural design.
The symposium theme was “Redefining the Art of Structural Design” and featured a representative history of IASS and groundbreaking innovations in the field.
The symposium proposed to further develop the classic characteristics of structural design – efficiency, economy, and elegance – and add environment and ethics to address the current challenges facing the discipline and the planet.
